On 5 August 2024, between 1:56 PM and 3:30 PM, violent clashes unfolded outside the Jatrabari Police Station in Dhaka during anti-government protests. A detailed 15-minute film compiled by TGI’s digital forensics team reconstructs the events using 47 verified videos, images, and audio files, along with eyewitness accounts and open-source data.

At 1:56 PM, police officers in full riot gear exited the station and fired live rounds at protesters, some of whom were seen fleeing or hiding behind the flyover pillar. The protestors were armed at most with sticks. At 2:01 PM, Bangladesh Army forces arrived in three vehicles, approaching calmly with weapons lowered. They formed a protective line in front of the police station, maintaining relative calm as protesters cooperated peacefully.

By 2:20 PM, the military held position at the station entrance as approximately 200 protesters gathered. Tensions escalated again at 2:39 PM, when a police officer threw a delay-fused stun grenade over the heads of soldiers and into the crowd. As it exploded, the crowd scattered, and police stormed forward, firing live ammunition past the army line. Protesters attempted to flee, but video evidence shows that many were shot as they ran or took cover.

At 2:46 PM, video footage captured police continuing to shoot near the flyover. At least four individuals, Eyasir Sarkar, Khobaib Ahmed, Miraj Hossain, and Mohammad Ritton, were confirmed dead in the immediate aftermath. By 2:58 PM, bodies and bloodstains were seen in the lane opposite the police station. Footage from after 3:00 PM shows survivors lifting bodies into vans. At 4:59 PM, the Jatrabari Police Station appeared to be ablaze.
